約翰杜佛針對Barossa地區最出名的Shiraz施赫所做的酒款，期望能發揮Barossa地區的風格、年份與品種特性，所以取名Entity『本質』，100%橡木桶陳年，其中30%為新桶，這支酒風格稍微甜美，這也是一般人對Barossa地區Shiraz所擁有的印象，但畢竟是John Duval，酒質中富含許多皮革、胡椒、柔軟而優雅的甜黑色漿果等，喝起來一點也不會有Barossa給人的嗆辣感，反而軟綿但仍結構精良。

 

 

My aim with Entity is to produce a wine true to the Barossa Valley, variety, and vintage. Traditional, low intervention winemaking techniques were employed with Entity, allowing the wine to be approachable in its youth but with ample structure and fruit depth to allow great potential for improvement in the bottle, under good cellaring conditions, for at least 10 years.

The purple-colored 2007 Entity Shiraz spent 17 months in 30% new French oak, the balance in seasoned French and American oak. It displays an alluring nose of wood smoke, game, meat blood, Asian spices, and blueberry. Ripe and sweetly-fruited, this plush effort conceals enough structure to evolve for another 2-3 years. Drink this classy offering from 2012 to 2022.
