五號好酒# 35 - 澳洲最難以尋獲，媲美Domaine Dujac的頂級Pinot Noir！
位於澳洲Victoria區的Mount Mary酒莊，是少數獲得葡萄酒大師James Halliday給予『紅色五顆星』最高評價的優質酒莊，代表品質穩定足以成為該區釀酒典範，至少兩年以上連續獲得五顆星標章。
酒莊產量不多，所釀四款酒總產量僅三千多箱，旗艦酒黑皮諾Pinot Noir與五重奏Quintet的產量更少，每年靠Mailing list與訂購單便銷售一空，是手握鈔票也很難尋獲的精品酒莊（Boutique Winery）。
澳洲大酒商Wine Ark所公布他們客戶中，葡萄酒蒐藏家的蒐藏品項，其中Mount Mary的兩支旗艦酒皆榜上有名，而收藏最多的澳洲黑皮諾就是Mount Mary。

美國酒評家Robert Parker說Mount Mary酒莊從來不希望我去品嚐他們的酒（The Proprietor of Mount Mary has never wanted me to taste his wines.），不過Parker還是想辦法弄到手品嚐了，當他喝到2005年份的Mount Mary酒莊黑皮諾Pinot Noir，更稱讚酒質像是法國勃根地傳奇酒莊Domaine Dujac Premier Cru！（It is reminiscent of a Domaine Dujac Premier Cru.）
五號這次特別拿到非常難以尋獲的老年份Mount Mary Pinot Noir，這支1998年份保存狀況極好，加上最新的2006年份，酒友們可以一窺這澳洲最強Pinot Noir的實力，並且探究陳年後的變化風貌，數量極少，絕對是不可多得的良機！

說到澳洲酒，不能不提Mount Mary Vineyard夢瑪麗酒莊和她的創始者Dr. John Middleton醫生，座落於澳洲東南角的Yarra Valley，是Yarra Valley第一個生產高級酒的葡萄園。
Dr. John Middleton醫生夫婦早年拜訪法國波爾多和勃根地，兩人完全被法國酒的高雅細膩所震攝，他們決定尋找合適的地方，建立一個完全以波爾多和勃根地葡萄品種為主的葡萄園，他們在1971偶然發現澳洲Yarra Valley的Mount Mary這座山，土壤狀況與氣候條件都非常適宜，也很驚訝這麼完美條件的地方還沒有種植葡萄樹，且他們確認山丘北面的斜坡是最理想的種植地塊，隨即在1972年栽植了第一批葡萄，現在是當地最老的葡萄藤，至今仍只有30英畝的葡萄園，產量極少，是手握鈔票也很難尋獲的精品酒莊（Boutique Winery）。
Mount Mary酒莊是Victoria區的Pinot Noir的領先種植者，以去梗的方式來發酵，發酵期只有短短7天，酒廠強調的重點在於樸實簡單，所以發酵前後都不使用低溫浸泡，之後使用大型橡木桶中熟成22個月，最多使用10%新桶，酒質表現豐富多變，草莓、櫻桃香氣，均衡柔順的尾韻，像法國勃根地一樣保持最單純的原味。葡萄酒大師James Halliday與澳洲毒舌評論Jeremy Oliver都給予了96的高分！

Mount Mary is a vanguard producer of Australian Pinot Noir. The low yielding vineyard, planted in 1972 by Doctor John Middleton, is almost 12.5 hectares and is planted on grey soils (sandy clay loams overlying degenerating Silurian shales). Only 10% of the Mount Mary vineyard is devoted to Pinot Noir. The grapes are de-stalked prior to fermentation and the wines see very little new French oak (rarely above 10%). The young wines show strong, varietal, strawberry/cherry aromas and a supple evenly proportioned palate. Andrew Caillard MW
